I Write

When I write, it slows my thoughts down to a mild panic rather. My head is so loud and busy all the time, I hardly ever get to formulate an entire thought before I’ve moved on from it to something related to it. And these are just my thoughts… I struggle to speak or pray aloud because my head rushes ahead of my mouth and what I’m trying to say gets lost.

When I write, my thoughts have to slow down so that I can formulate them properly. I spend no time worrying about punctuation or synonyms. I’m happy with the way I’ve been made: writing comes so naturally to me that it can flow my thoughts in a manageable way. It’s an opportunity to get everything out that is crying out to be heard.

When I write, I can write my stream of consciousness. When I write, my sentences are all there, neatly formed, each word waiting for me to reach its turn in my sentence, no haste or impatience, no losing train of thought or wandering off before I’ve completed an idea or sentence.

I write because no one has to listen, so there’s no fear of rejection.

I write because it’s forever and I can still access it once the thought has passed or the comment has been made.

I write because I have an opinion but I believe it should be your choice whether you want to hear it (or not)

I write because it is a gift I have been blessed with and all gifts must be utilised.

I write because I love it,

I write because I can,

I write for me.
